In addition to beautiful art and outstanding jazz, festival-goers will find the Wooster Arts Jazz Festival is a family-friendly outing.
While you are visiting this year’s festival take your children by the Kids Corner, which promises to be educational and entertaining.
Rainsticks are new to this year’s Kids Corner creativity. Participants will have an opportunity to make a rainstick as they learn about its history. Listen for the sound of “rain” as Kid’s Corner artists take part in the Jazz Parade. Kids Corner creators will also have the opportunity to make a dazzling top hat to wear in the parade.
Young artists will “Rock and Roll” with marble painting. These creations will be worthy of any refrigerator gallery.
Ever wonder where tie-dye came from? Kids will learn about this ancient art form as they make tie-dye butterflies.
For the younger kids there will be coloring pages and sidewalk chalk available.
Pat Catan’s will join us with a craft project for the young festival-goer.
New to this year’s festival will be a caricature artist. Kids Corner kids can take time out from their creativity to have a caricature done by Scott Hall of Scott Hall Arts.
Volunteers from the Wooster City Schools Art club will be on hand for face painting. The Wooster Rotary Club will assist at the Kids Corner. |
